Hey no worries hon, I know how busy it is this time of year.  I just wish I had remembered to take photos, I have been so forgetful lately.  LOL!  Darn holiday brain!

So I am FINALLY posting the wonderful awesomeness that Mandalinn sent to me!  Got caught up in holiday stuff, camera conked out, etc., but without further adieu...


The Fiber!  Absolutely beautiful carded batts of mixed wools (domestic, romney, superwash) plus a generous heaping of sparkly firestar!  I ADORE batts, so I was so excited to see them!


The Extras!  ***Handdyed Cotswald locks***, Bernat Bling yarn, silver sequins, sequin stars, plying thread, and cute card!  So much!!

I'm hoping my friend MJ will have a pic of the finished yarn -- I thought I did, but was obviously mistaken, and she claimed it as soon as I brought it to my knitgroup.

This was a lot of fun, and got me out of my comfort zone a bit. I normally spin 2-ply or 3-ply yarn that's fairly normal (although I have been putting beads into my handspun lately). This was a great way to experiment with "art yarns" without committing to them full-time.

Yea!! What neat looking yarn you made Christy!! Wow I am so happy you enjoyed a bit of a different kind of yarn making. I have to admit that I have never made plied yarns on my wheel until this project. Nope never....So, I made one big ol skein and I got some left for another complementary arty one featuring the add-in goodies...I had to figure out how to do the plied part...my wheel only goes one way cause it's pooped up and I haven't figured out the simple solution (oddly I work at the hardware store so I am sure the newer screw or bolt or washer needed is available there). So, I spun up singles on the spindle and then plied on the wheel. I had to look like a tard trying to figure out what way to spindle them so I could ply with the wheel.  I will post pics tomorrow as it is almost 3:30 am and I gotta go to work. I also think I am in love with my new plied yarn and I might have to covet it a bit more than I should
