I'm heading to Venice in a few weeks. Last time I was there I remember seeing a bazillion necklaces but what about loose beads?

Or any good venice crafting recommendations?

Thank you!

With its incredible bead making history, it is somewhat shocking to discover that bead stores as they are known in the states and the UK are few and far between in Italy. My wife Lily and I are originally from the states where we had bead stores in Seattle and then Tucson. We moved to Italy 8+ years ago and were very surprised by this fact. On the island of Murano, off of Venice, it is certainly possible to find loose beads but you need to be persistent in your quest. Ask stores owners and go shop to shop. The presentation will most likely not be what you are used to but bins of handmade beads are certainly to be had.

If you are in Florence, you are welcome to visit our bead-jewelry-glass studio. Here are walking directions:

Good luck!!
