Post your non-ordinary flower pictures here! These are two I've been liking a lot lately:

I can't get enough of flower pictures! I work at an agricultural high school, and we just got done having a chrysanthemum festival last month (where I took the first picture! It's a chrysanthemum. I'm not sure about the second flower. It was growing wild.). There were soooo many pretty flowers everywhere, so I have about a gazillion flower pictures, plus a bunch of bee ones. It's easy to take a beautiful flower picture, I think, but the challenge is to not make it look like everyone else's!
Comments are welcome, and please post your photos!!

Some of my other favorite pictures on flickr!

I hope a lot more people add to this thread.  I always like taking close-up pics of flowers, but it doesn't always turn out well.  I'm off to try again and maybe post something here myself.

They're all beautiful, well done.

Okay, I had to post one! I took this picture at an RV park just outside of Washington, D.C. this summer. I have no idea what it is, but it was so funky looking!

Even better, Celosia is also known as Cock's Comb. I used a dark burgundy variety of it in my wedding flowers (alongside orange circus roses and pink dahlias). It looked awesome (I'll dig up some pictures), but  got quite a few raised eyebrows when people asked what it was and I cheerfully chirped, "Cock's Comb!"

This isn't the greatest photograph, but the flower in it is neat. I found this in Northern Ireland 2 years ago:

here are some of mine from the last year or so.  The flowers themselves aren't that unusual, but I think the photographs make them look unique.

Ohh, I love taking pictures of flowers! Everyone's here are so gorgeous. Here are a few of mine:

The first one has a daisy and another unknown flower, the second and third I don't know, and the fourth are violas. All taken this spring at my house or the nursery.  Smiley

Thanks for the info (and the compliment)! I saw the flower one day, and almost missed the bus the next day because I was too busy taking pictures.

Ooooh! I bet it looked beautiful! And, thanks for the common name info. I'll have to look it up to see if I can grow it around here (central MA).

And, I love looking at all of these beautiful photos!! Makes me long for spring...

I took this last spring, it's blossoms from one of our apricot trees, there were a lot of bees around and even though I am totally afraid of them I wanted to get a good picture!

So I'm not a photographer, but I work in a greenhouse and every year I have to take some flower pictures to remember the year by. I could post a ton that I love, but here are a few.

Enjoy
