Post your non-ordinary flower pictures here! These are two I've been liking a lot lately:

I can't get enough of flower pictures! I work at an agricultural high school, and we just got done having a chrysanthemum festival last month (where I took the first picture! It's a chrysanthemum. I'm not sure about the second flower. It was growing wild.). There were soooo many pretty flowers everywhere, so I have about a gazillion flower pictures, plus a bunch of bee ones. It's easy to take a beautiful flower picture, I think, but the challenge is to not make it look like everyone else's!
Comments are welcome, and please post your photos!!

Some of my other favorite pictures on flickr!

Favorite moment of the year?  That commercial when m8888888 dropped her towel and jumped naked into the arms of Tony Danza.

I hope a lot more people add to this thread.  I always like taking close-up pics of flowers, but it doesn't always turn out well.  I'm off to try again and maybe post something here myself.

They're all beautiful, well done.

Okay, I had to post one! I took this picture at an RV park just outside of Washington, D.C. this summer. I have no idea what it is, but it was so funky looking!

craftADDchick: It's a celosia. I love those flowers! They remind me of coral. I love your pic.

Even better, Celosia is also known as Cock's Comb. I used a dark burgundy variety of it in my wedding flowers (alongside orange circus roses and pink dahlias). It looked awesome (I'll dig up some pictures), but  got quite a few raised eyebrows when people asked what it was and I cheerfully chirped, "Cock's Comb!"

This isn't the greatest photograph, but the flower in it is neat. I found this in Northern Ireland 2 years ago:
