I just started the "Fitted Knits" Elizabeth Bennet cabled cardigan and couldn't find any stitch markers.  In desperation, I took different colored zip-ties, put them around my needle, and pulled the flat ends until they closed around the needle but still had the slightest give.  Then I clipped off the long end and voila!  A stitch marker.

I've never been able to figure out how to post. Can anyone give me instructions?  I'd be happy to post some. [runs to get camera]

Hope this works:

Truly, desperation is the Mother of Invention not inspiration!! Wink I've done several rows and they work great.
