I make everyone's (and by everyone I mean my DS and DH and now my other DS) birthday cake every year. I just googled "how to make a pirate chest cake" and came up with tons of instructions. I used 2 loaf pans. I filled up one pan 1/3 of the way and used the rest for the other pan. I forgot to spray one of the pans and it stuck so I used that for the "sand" around the chest and used another box of mix and filled up the pan again. I used a vanilla cookie for the latch and strawberry fruit by the foot for the bands around the chest. I used chocolate coins, jolly ranchers and candy necklaces for the treasure.

Life, liberty and the pursuit of craftiness.
