This was my first quilt and real sewing project. I made it for a friend's first baby long before I knew the sex. I figured it'd be cool and 50s rockabilly for a boy or girl. Even though the mother is much more traditional, she still appreciated my work and personal touch. The dancing skulls glow in the dark too.

Very, very nice, especially for your first project!  It can be seen that you took the time to make sure the blocks lined up and the various colors are interesting together!  Thanks for sharing!

Very cool!
And babies see in primary colors I think, so the red, yellow, black and white works for them I think.

I'm looking to send my Step-Sister's Choice quilt to a new home.  If you're interested in swapping for fabric/scrapbooking supplies, send me a PM.

For your first quilting attempt this is pretty amazing.  You should be proud of yourself.
