Ok so I wrote this whole posted and managed to disappear it.

Here is my poppet, Autumn.  I got the pattern for the Halloweenalong but it took me this long because I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.  First doll hehe.  It took me 6 tries to figure out eyelids, all the limbs are a little gimpy because I didn't bother looking up what a ladder stitch was until I attached the head.  I did end up attaching the hair strand by strand because it's so thick it was pretty easy that way.  And I decided with all that hair, a shirt wasn't necessary but I did want to cover up the mess I made of her butt and ladybits.
I was inspired by my own orange cat, Daniel, who I think is in lurve with his new girliekitteh.  Well here are the photos:

She looks kinda sad.  My fiance thinks she looks like a kobold or goblin and wants one of his own now.  I think she kinda looks like a Fraggle.  I love the pattern though, now that I've made one, I think any beyond will be much easier.  And I think I know how to make basic dolls now!!

Oh and here is Autumn and Daniel at their favorite hobby:

Her hair is fantastic!  It reminds me of the broadway show Cats, for some reason.  I've never seen it, either.  Anyway, she's beautiful and you now know how to make way more than a basic doll!  It's quite an undertaking for a beginner.

OOO I love her, I think she is so pretty especially the hair!! Kinda reminds me of my own when I don't brush it and let it go free  Tongue. My son (1) ran over with a big smile and said "Kitty" and giggled after words. He loves these. Great Job!!

she is beautiful and her locks make her so exotic. She is much cuter than a fraggle. She must be the nymph that kisses that trees so the leaves will change. Good work

You did a great job! I love the yarn that you chose for her hair, and her skirt is darling! I agree with the others here that she is much prettier than a Fraggle.

I also think she looks slightly Fraggle-like, but I loved the Fraggles, so that's a good thing!

I used that yarn to make a lapghan a few weeks ago.  It's so pretty!  It looks gorgeous as hair, too.

I'm in the same state you were in.  I got this pattern for the Halloween swap, but had so much trouble with it.  Dolls are hard!  Mine will be up here soon, though.

I caught this one from the small pics in the main homepage, I'm glad I didn't miss it because she is great! I love the hair, and your kitty, of course...

don't forget to check the poppet-along post for more great poppets, it's so fun seeing all the different takes at the same pattern!

Oh I love her. Fall colors are my favorite colors.

I bought orange fabric to make a doll with too.  Is that orange? It almost looks more rusty in color.

I love, love her hair. Did you just twist some of it or kinda make dread falls?

She is so lovely.  I love the picture with your kitty.  Grin

Like I said earlier, I've used that same yarn before.  It just comes that way.  A JoAnn's exclusive of some sort.  I'm not at home, and can't check my stash.

And you're right about the Fraggle.  Like if they found another distant cave and these were their glamorous, distant cousins.

I see that you said you attached the hair strand by strand, but how did you attach it?  Is it sewn or glued?  I absolutely love the way it looks and would love to use the same yarn when I make mine.

Haha wow, she's such a perfect little Fraggle!
You know what's funny?  I have a red and black hair-extension fall just like that.  I made it by felting wool roving and then attaching individual strips to a big clippie.  I'll try to dig up a picture for you Smiley

She is awesome! Love the color of her as well as her hair. I didn't think it was yarn...I thought it was wool roving. That's amazing! Sewing it in strand by strand? Wow you have patience...which sadly I do not possess. Wish I did cuz it looks amazing. Great job!
