Bento Swap (Sign Ups 11/20-12/7; Send outs January 7)

Ooh... I love this idea! I just got into lurking bento blogs and flickr groups and such in the past.. oh.. week or so, then I see this pop up! Who knew there were so many bento-interested people!?

I'm heading down to the Japanese stores in my strangely non-ethnic downtown mall this week to see if I can find a box!  (there's a Japanese street style clothing store right beside a Japanese candy/food store! the food store may have bento's, if not, they will probably know where I can find one around here!)...

But.. what kinds of things could be crafted for one? (You see, I've never even made a bento lunch!)

Ooh, that's a considerate thought. It would kind of spoil the effect if your swap partner was dismayed at receiving your stuff sooner than (s)he could send out, rather than simply getting giddy over getting goodies!

Yay, I just sent in my info!  I've been waiting for a swap like this... I just moved to Japan in August, and I've been surrounded by beautiful bento box inspiration    soooo excited!

augh!  every day i wake up and run to my laptop to see if partners are posted yet, and EVERY DAY i realize shortly after that it's not the 7th of December yet.

Just wanted to remind all of you anxious swappers (16 now!  woohoo!!) that signups are open until midnight EST this Friday.  I've already got a pretty good idea of partners because some people asked for some specific qualities in their partners- so I should have partners out Saturday morning.

I can't wait to get started, either!!!

Nooooooooo! I just realized that we find out who our swap partner is this weekend, and I'm going to be gone until Saturday night or Sunday! :*(

But at least I have plenty of stuff to keep me busy - I'm going to an SCA event in KC called Kris Kinder, which is basically a huge venue with lots of people making handmade goods. Hopefully I'll have enough money after going to buy decent stuff for the swap! Just kidding, I've already got things (halfway) planned.

So if you end up as my swap partner and start sending me oodles and gobs of messages and I don't respond, that's why. Ooh, I can't wait to learn about my swap partner! Every time I visit this board I get just that much more excited!
