My place is usually tidier than this.

Here are a couple of shots of a kooky cake I made, had a blast decorating it.  Just felt like making a cake, and I am definitely inspired by the many fabulous cakes seen on craftster, although I take full responsibility for this ridiculous thing and blame no one but myself. I am a rustic cake maker, just love the fun of making and decorating, and make no claim to skill.  The pink icing is melted marshmallow, confectioners sugar, and beet juice.  it was quite tasty.  I tried to make some yellow icing colored with turmeric but it had too strong of a taste so that didn't work.  Blueberries and red cabage created a greyish color, not very appetizing.

Just felt like spreading around the joy that making and eating this cake gave to a whole bunch of people at a recent party! Smiley

Wow, just had to comment re: the Turmeric. I've just completed an honours thesis of one of the components of turmeric (curcumin) and since then it's popping up everywhere! Sad that its flavour was too strong but hey, the whole cake looks absolutely awesome!!!

I'm totally amused by the home dying of frosting using vegetables and spices.  You rock. The cake rocks too.

Amazing! What a wacky looking cake. I love how the candles are stuffed in the top. I might have to steal this idea for my birthday this year.
