Well, summer's here in Australia, so I thought I'd drag out the ol' sewing kit! Found this fabric on sale the other week and was thinking of using it for a skirt. This actually started out as a a high-waisted skirt but then I added a bodice and some cute straps... et voila! I just kind of made it up as I went along, really. All very ad hoc.

Unfortunately this meant I had to sew a zipper in and I only had a light pink one, so it shows pretty badly at the back, but I added pink lining to the heart-shaped pockets so hopefully it will look like it's supposed to be there. I could always change the wooden buttons for light pink ones too.

Anyway, tadaa!! My mum took these pictures for me. They turned out really well! ^_^

The back! I know the zip is bad but I did the button holes so neatly... *is proud* XD

My face look stupid so... I cut it out. Tongue

I'm trying to show the heart-shaped pockets with light pink roses pattern lining.

Yay, Accessories!!

Eek, my legs look so awkward!

Thanks for reading. ^_^;;

Love is not love,
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! It is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken.

Awesome! The style of the dress is really cool and the color is beautiful. The heart pockets are a nice detail.  I bet the zipper doesn't show that bad with the belt. I wouldn't worry about it, it looks great!

So pretty!!  The back still looks really cute, even if the zipper is a lil off.  And the heart pockets are amazing!!  Grin

Great work!  It's such a cute shape, and really looks sophisticated with the accessories, so you can wear it many ways. Love it!
