But I'm considering making myself some markers, I find safety pins kinda awkward to work with... and visually boring too =P

aw, thanks for the nice comments. They were really easy. The loopy bit at the top are earring loops- they've got a hinge on them, and the beads are glass lampwork threaded onto a silver pin, with plain black glass beads on the top and bottom. Then, the top of the pin is looped and threaded onto th earring!
