This pattern = grrrrr.  It's from Teva Durham's Loop-d-Loop.

The first half was piece o' cake, but the last was a bit tricky... the real problem was the very end: the sewing up of the top of the hat is impossible to figure out. It looks nothing like the picture.

I tried emailing the website, since I knit the pattern out of the book and they sell the pattern by itself (I thought maybe they were different)... but my email was returned. Grrrr. I really wanted this hat.

Help/suggestions would be much appreciated.

I'm thinking it's got to twist and warp half like a cable, half like neck tie.  Like for the front, I'd think the left side went around the other parts like part of a figure 8, and the right goes under and possibly through that loop over the back?  Hard to tell with the top of the pic cut off.  They didn't give you any other angles in the book?!

Yours looks pretty close to mine... I can't figure out how to get that twist at the top to pop up like the model pic, though!  That's what really bothers me about it...

This was actually a pic off the website... the book has much worse pictures- you can't see the top half of the hat in them.  I think I have the knitting parts down, it the sewing together that's the problem, I think...

I got all excited that she was selling individual patterns, but then it turns out they're from the hardcover book Loop-de-Loop and not from the pattern book Loop-de-Loop vol. 1.

Can someone please beg her NOT TO GIVE ALL OF HER BOOKS THE SAME TITLE!!   Angry
