As usual, everything looks awesome

Wow, isamax, that hat is awesome.  I would wear it all the time, too.
Lufah, I want to roll around in those batts.  They look great.
Laamissa, your yarn looks especially soft and squishy.
nicolassa, i love the coloring. "Grape Expectations" is an awesome name.
feverdream, i love your Marie Antoinette yarn.  It's so girly and cute.
breeba, those look great, a fine addition to Fiber Friday.

I have actually done a lot of spinning this week.

Mixed Berries
4 oz of merino
120 yds
kool-aid dyed

This one doesn't have a name yet
2 oz romney
215 yds
fiber from Winterberry Farms

Verdant
3.5 oz
230 yds
fiber from [urlhttp://www.handpaintedyarn.com/]handpaintedyarn.com/[/url]

Also still have some gorgeous mohair that's still on the bobbin, and another skein of yarn that is for a swap, so I'm not posting it yet.  Smiley

Love seeing everyone's stuff.

Hi!!

I finally got off of my butt and gave this spinning a try.  Here's my first homespun.  It was made from some rolags that I received from Raynbow in one of the Sweat Shoppe Swaps.  Hopefully, I'll improve.

Presenting Green Goo!  Catch!

Fiber Friday at last ! Your yarn are all gorgeous as always. Nice to see green yarns (love green goo and verdant), and this pinky funny thing is awesome, and great expectations are great, and I want to eat some of breebas fruity yarn, and lamissa's pastel yarn seems soooooooo soft, and that hat is really great, and and and...
And these are my two first yarns spun this week. I already posted the green one separately, but it so striking how much thinner I spun the second one... Well I am quite proud of myself  Tongue. So the second is natural grey wool, not very interesting in itself, but I am planning to knit me a cabled hat with it. The green one is 100 g (3.5 oz), about 70 meters long, the grey one is 74 g (2.6 oz).

Ok so I didn't do any spinning this week but this is fiber so yummy- this is my contribution this week. The first pic is green mohair dyed with Wiltons and Jacquard both. then deep purple tussah, pink tussah and the top right is yummy cashmere. The second pic is more mohair in pink and purple and a big braid of merino. I did some other stuff too but these are my favs. I am thinking of making batts or making a roving with the hackles. I posted this on the dye board too but I think they are shiney and pretty and help relate the yarn porn this week.

Oh and that hat rocks big time! I love the yarn you spun. Looks cooler than Noro knitted up! And there are some other super yarns too! Wow as usual!

Hope everyone has a great Fiber weekend and lots of fiber goodness for next week! Grin

Hee!  It's funny because I don't have a drum carder and have only ever spun from batts once before.  Now I have a serious case of Drum Carder Want.  I wish you could have seen us carding all of them, we were fiber possessed!

First off! I love the hat and the Marie Antoinette yarn! And I love all of the batts too! I REALLY want a drum carder but I think I will have to go and find someone to just let me use theirs a few times a month. Seriously those look so fun!!

I was.. umm.. super productive this week!!! Its time to start getting ready for the holidays!!  Tongue  After my nicely spun perfectly balanced alpaca from last week I decided to go a bit crazy and make fun silly yarns!

Purple Illusion - 2-ply Super Bulky wool (6 WPI) - 40 yards

Gypsy Pink- Single ply thick and thin Super Bulky wool (6 WPI) - 61 Yards. On this one I spun it pretty twisted, ran it through a few batches of super hot and super cold water + agitation so it got felted up, let it dry for about an hour (so it was still damp), and then spun it again but the opposite direction of the first time. So its really really strong but still open and soft. Fun!

Dusky Fairgrounds- 2-ply (wool with cotton thread) Bulky (9 WPI) - 70 yards

Dragon Flames- 2 ply (wool with polyester thread) Bulky (9 WPI) - 79 yards. I LOVE the colors of this one. They seem so shiny.

Rosey Red and Fluffy White Puffs- 2 ply wool- Super Bulky (7 WPI) - 47 yards. This one was so cute when I knit up a swatch! Love!

Dancing Greens - 2 ply (wool with polyester thread and gold-ish glass beads) - Super bulky (7 WPI)- 68 yards. This is the first time I spun with anything like beads and at first it was a total disaster! Everything just exploded at once it felt like and beads went everywhere. I learned my lesson and added fewer beads at a time.. perfecto!

I Dream of Blue Sky- Super bulky core spun on cotton upholstery thread with added white puffs. This one made me crazy. I ended up taking it off the bobbin early and just knitting a quick neck warmer with what I had because I was getting furious. I think I had just been spinning way too much that day. Anyway I love the result and the neck warmer ended up being perfect for me. I'm thinking about getting a large white/opal button.. I don't know!  Cheesy

Okay I'm done posting a billion pictures for now!! Oh yeah.. I dyed all of these last weekend with food coloring. I'm really very happy with how they turned out too!

Geranium
70% wool/30% mohair
130-ish yards
Thick and thin, 6-9 WPI

Dyed with Wilton's.

Northern Lights
100% colonial wool
134-ish yards
Thick and thin but pretty consistent

Difficult to photograph in the afternoon light! Very dark purple/plum blended with a rainbow of other colors.
