Wow!  There are some beautiful cards up so far!  And some cute ones!  Missed seeing the gallery until today!  I love the vintage snowmen and the candy cane pinup makes me laugh!

I received my card from tristitia today, and it is no exception to the bunch.  It is also a beautiful card.

I am just a tiny bit disappointed, since in my questionnaire I said I was Jewish and would rather receive winter images than Christmas ones, yet my card has two reindeer, the word Christ and the word Lord.

But there is no doubt that it is an extremely beautiful card, so I thank tristitia heartily for the effort she obviously put into it.  I like the layers a lot, and the sparkles.  Also, not sure how she got "Seasons Greetings" transfered onto it, but I really like the faded effect.

Anyway, without further ado, the card:

Awww, I'm sorry - I used "Silent Night" sheet music as the background, I didn't really realize that it was a religious song at all, and I also didn't notice which words peeked through the layers of gesso I brushed on.  I also didn't think that reindeer were religious?  I didn't mean to offend or dissappoint  Embarrassed

It's so pretty. bethiej78, could you just brush a tiny bit of gesso over those words so they fade more into the background? I do think deer are pretty much just associated with winter, not Christmas...

Wow, I think that's a very pretty little card. I love how you can barely see that sheet music in the background. Nice job Tristitia.

I absolutely love it.  Smiley

The pink tree is perfect b/c I'm very non-traditional in many ways.  (Although our Christmas tree is up, I'm still scheming to try to get my hands on a palm tree Christmas tree like a friend of mine has.)  The wreath on my front door has dolphins and seashells on it.

There is something about the stag, the god, the rebirth, from I think may mythologies and pagan beliefs.  I could wiki it to see if I'm right, but I'm too tired now.

Nifty cards, everyone.  I hope my other one makes it ok!
