I'm just doing the Val Kilmer bag that's in the book, and it is taking FOREVER! I didn't think I was that slow of a knitter, but 2 rounds takes almost an hour...Is this ridiculous? Is it taking anyone else this long? (I think carrying it behind and cathching the yarn in place is what's taking so long)

It took me forever too...I did mine in gray and bright orange and lined it with plaid orange and black fabric (I will try to post a pic soon). It came out kinda bumpy and it pulls in some places (and it wasn't my first intarsia, either) but I took it out three times and I don't have the energy to do it again. It mostly looks good, I decided it's more punk rock like that. Plus when I wanted to take it out my roommate threatened to hit me (she hates it when I take things out). And I do use it a lot. I also didn't realized that it was Bowie...now I love it all the more!

Um...I have been working on my bag, (on and off..mostly off) for a year.  It's going to be James Marsters (Spike from Buffy).  I have up to his eyes done, so now he keeps looking at me...accusingly.  I might have to really get serious and finish it.

I just got the yarn and started this bag today...or a version of it anyway.  I'm knitting it in black and I'm going to put a glittery white Tree of Gondor (from Lord of the Rings) pattern on mine Smiley

Btw...hi Flan! Grin  Thanks for that tree graph pattern Wink  Finally using it!

mind if I got a copy of that *ppppplllleeeaase*

Oh, Bob Dylan would be very cool. There's so many amazing pictures of him that one could make a series of bags. Do you have a particular picture in mind?

Ok, I know how old this book and thread are, but I just had to post!
I finally finished my poster boy bag!  The knitting itself had been finished for a while now, and I had some half-finished knitted handles started.  I decided I didn't like the knitted handles, so I got some black ones from JoAnn's and sewed them on with yarn.
