I have seen some fantastic, jester looking, felt boots and I want to make a couple of pairs both as indoor slippers and outdoor shoes.

But for the outdoor shoes, what can I use for the bottoms?  Do I go seek out used cheap shoes at Goodwill or is there a place where I can just buy a couple of pairs of rubber soles?

I'm planning on wet felting with a resist to make the boots themselves.  I just got done making a couple of felted bowls with resists and had great sujccess with them.

In the past I've sewn leather to the base to make the soles more hardy.
I'll keep an eye out for other ides though

What grade leather do you use?

I saw a site that sells felted boots with rubber soles and I kinda like that idea as well but it's been hard trying to find a site that will just sell you one pair of rubber soles.  lol

Why not buy some cheap China slippers from Walmart and steal the soles off of them?

If I can find a pair with black soles great but them normally have white soles on them.
