Raining and no car? Well one makes a rain cover for the stroller!

Took me about 2 hours (with help, lol, from my 2 young children who just LOVE to help me) to make this rain cover for my stroller.

I HATE having my car in the shop!!!

So since I HAVE to do my errands today - library, post office, grocery store, and bank, AND it's raining, BLECH!  I decided I had to make a rain cover so the kids could stay dry.

So here is the results of my efforts.  It's not perfect but it appears like it'll work well.  I attached snaps to the fabric canopy 'sun shade' so that when the wind blows, the rain cover will not blow away.  I had the vinyl in house (I buy weird materials and just keep them around, lol)  I used an old piece of fabric for a pattern template (using clothespins to hold it on the stroller while I was cutting it up - the fabric that is, lol).  Then used the fabric pattern on the vinyl.  The theory and application worked!

and a close up of my bad stitching (my 22 month old INSISTED on pulling on the vinyl the whole time I was sewing, sigh) with some of the snaps attached to the sun shade to hopefully prevent wind gusts from taking off with my rain cover. . . .

That's awesome! With the vinyl though, is it well ventilated? BTW, that's the craziest stroller I have ever seen! How cool!

in answer to your questions - it's a runabout stroller.  it's actually a triple.  I have the front seat off right now as I'm only transporting 2 kids today.    (bought it off eBay)

for ventilation, there's TONS of air flow under the rain canopy so I'm not worried. 

Well, I've almost got my parcels addressed (which is why I'm still online, lol) and then I'm off once I figure out where the kids shoes are hiding. . .

VERY cool stroller cover!  (neat-O stroller, too!)  My only question was about the ventilation, too, but it does seem to provide plenty.  I like how it's see-through and you can see what the kiddos are up to, also.

I just found the runabout stroller website.  I think MY stroller rain cover is nicer than their 'premium' one!!  I used heavy weight vinyl so it is comparable I believe to their premium one

just realized - in the 'real' runabout pic, there's no basket in the front part of stroller.  that's because I custom made one for my stroller when I first got it, lol.  I didn't have enough storage space in the little box thingy in teh back of the stroller, so I made another storage area that holds my diapers, etc. 

Guess I AM getting crafty.
