It's about 14" x 6" and fits all the stuff I need to lug around.  I ironed-on the Enterprise to a piece of thin white cotton and then sewed it on, along with little glass seed beads for stars.

Beautiful job!  Your applique is soo neat!  How did you turn under all those curved edges so nicely?.  Your bag has a zipper top.  How did you get the upper corners of your bag so square?  I'm trying to figure out how you attached the handle.  Could you please tell me where you found the image of the Enterprise?  Any advice/links would be appreciated.  Well done!  I love it!

Great job!  Yeah where did you get your image from?

Thanks for all the compliments!!!   Kiss

The image is from a dingbat font called Prime Directive.  I added the colours in Photoshop.

Curved edges were a bitch.  It was a lot of stopping-and-going and lifting the foot up (but with with the needle still in the fabric) to turn the fabric around.  I ended up sewing the really detailed bits by hand (e.g. in between the two thrusters).

The handle was attached a la Jordy bag:
  • Place the strap in the outer layer which is inside out and pin it
  • Place the lining inside the bag with the good side of the lining facing the good side of the outer layer.  There should be a hole in your lining to flip the whole bag through.
  • Pin everything down
  • Sew along top

The zipper top was added at the very end, when the whole bag had been assembled.  I flipped the bag inside out to pin the zipper in and then flipped it back rightside out to sew it all together.

Cool bag; the bead stars really set it off. Now all you need is a tricorder to put in it.

..... You got me thinking... a tricorder wallet!

But I really like my Steve Madden one.... we'll see!   Wink  I'd have to think it out more thoroughly.
