I made a sewing machine cover for myself yesterday and after reading http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=34786.0 I got curious about how everyone else covers their machines.

So, here's mine:

Please show me yours!

Beautiful!  Mine is just a hard plastic carrying case.  Useful for me because I don't have a permanent place to sit my machine, it has to be stored when not in use.

But if I ever get a sewing table, this will be my inspiration!

Yours is cute.  I usually store my machine away, but leave it out when I am working on projects.  Here's the cover I made about a year ago.  I got a little remnant at Walmart and it was the perfect size. The rickrack came on a spool from a thrift shop.

Gulp
I don't have a sewing machine cover, mine's always at my bedroom table reminding me of how wonderful it is and how much I love it.

Should I have a cover?

VaxGirl - Your picture is not showing  Cry (for me at least).  I'd love to see yours.

curegreed - I didn't have a cover for a long time too, but I realized that the sewing machine collects a lot of dust so I figured it was a good idea to make one.  Wink

Mine is either out on the table w/out a cover or it's in the hard plastic carrying case. I use my machine almost every day, so I guess I don't feel the need to cover it.

Yours is adorable, though!!

I don't have a sewing machine cover either...  but seeing these cute ones, I'm inspired.  Did you use a pattern or just freehand it?

I didn't use a pattern. I measured my sewing machine and cut 3 pieces of fabric: a big one for the top part (I made the front, top and back only one piece) and 2 for the sides. I was quick and easy to make. Smiley

Here is mine:

Made of a vintage sewing machine cover from an old Pfaff machine. If you are interested in how I made it, here is a link:

I must say though that I am still drooling over the fabric machine covers I keep seeing here... hm, one day, I might change my mind and make one of these, too.
