If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name and mailing address

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Details of swap:
Sign up AND have your craft completed until 12/19..
That was changed for those that want to join and missed the cut off - as long as you have your large crafted item completed with pictures taken by 12/19 you will be allowed to enter the swap.
***After you sign up you can start crafting as soon as you want since you are crafting in general and not making something specific for someone!
***You are required to craft and send a large item - minimum.
***You can not add to your item after it is completed - as in no extras being sent in the box as just a little extra.  What you crafted is what you are sending... no more no less.
***You MUST take a picture(S) of what you crafted. At the end of the crafting time(or when you are completed) you will post in the gallery pictures of what you made along with a good description of it - please try to get one really good shot especially - you can take multiples though but only one will be posted in the actual thread(I will lift the pics and get them set up - no fears on that!)
***You will not be allowed to participate in the swapping if you do not provide a picture of your finished item so if you have to beg or borrow (please don't steal) a digital camera, do so.
***Why US only?  There are a lot of people who can not send overseas and due to the nature of this swap it would be really really difficult to keep track of who will or will not send out of the country.  If this is a huge success then I could be arm twisted in to running a second round that is international from the get go.
If it is wildly popular after that I will alternate international and us only swaps to make it fun and easy and accessible to all.
***What if I end up with something that I don't absolutely adore?  I am sure that you know someone that will love it!  It's all good in the end!

Here is how it will work.. It is easy peasy..

You sign up.

You craft your heart out - make something that you are very proud of.

Make only things that an adult would like (no baby or pet items please)

You submit picture(s) of your finished item via by posting pics in the gallery thread - as well as a detailed description of the item(s)

The organizer (that's me) will randomly match up partners after the item pictures are submitted.  The pictures and descriptions will then be posted with a coordinating Package Code (as in Package A, Package B, etc...)[/color]

On 12/21 the swapping will begin.

You are NOT allowed to pick your own package as your pick!  If you do so and you end up with it you will NOT be given a final pick (that is the fail safe if you end up with your own package)

The swapping will last until 12/29 - 10pm CST (that's Alabama time, folks!)  Please try to be online 12/30 just in case you need to make a final pick (if you end up with your own package - details further down)

On 12/31 mail your item!  Please be prepared to get to the post office or have the free pickup service arranged if you are paying for your shipping via the internet.

You will be facing a potential negative if your package is not sent by 1/3.
I hate to sound cranky but just mail it out.  Have it all ready to go and get it on out, tay?
The mail date is after the huge holiday rush so there shouldn't be an issue there!

The actual swapping.......
You will be given five chances to snarf something up... so view those crafty packages and if you see something you want more than what you have already, stake a claim..

How do you stake a claim?

Reply to the thread and type in....
I claim Package A (the tote bag with matching zippered pouch)
This is my 3rd claim....
Neiner neiner neiner it is all mine now!  bwaahaaahaaaa! (or whatever joyous exclamation you can come up with!)

then copy and paste the previous list and make your change...

You copy and paste the list from the previous person's claim it will look something like this

Package A.. tote with matching zippered pouch..... nameofcrafter
Package B.....Czech beaded Necklace Set....iaminsane
Package C.....crocheted hat and scarf set......Jane Doe
package D....Set of 4 handmade journals.....mine

very carefully claim your item by changing your package like this..

Package A.. tote with matching zippered pouch..... mine
Package B.....Czech beaded Necklace Set....iaminsane
Package C.....crocheted hat and scarf set......Jane Doe
package D....Set of 4 handmade journals.....nameofcrafter

How do I do that easily?
cut out your name...
cut out the name of the person who you are taking the item from
paste that name to what you used to have
type in your own name on your newly claimed item....
then DOUBLE CHECK that you did it right - if you made a mistake delete it all and start over.

If the swapping is completed early then the swap will be ended and the packages will need to be shipped out within 4 days...

if you are happy with what you have, you do not have to pick someone else's package - at the end of the swapping period all unused possible claims are null and void.

No chatter will be allowed in the swap thread - I will immediately set up a thread in the forum for that kind of stuff!  I hope it is a chatty fun swap full of thrills and chills!
After the claiming begins this thread will be sacred - no chatter..!!!  Before that chat all you want, tay?
Please do reply to the gallery thread!!

What happens if you end up with what you made in the first place?

Okay - what are the odds of that?  You never know but just in case.. that person(s) will be given a final picking of their choice after all is said and done.  Nice failsafe, aye?

So what you think?  It is pretty easy peasy!  It will be oodles of fun
This will be the most fun if we have a TON of people signed up - so put the pressure on your crafty swappy friends and let's make this a blast!

Also.. I will need a back up organizer so any volunteers?

Gallery link!

that's where extra pictures of the nifty packages you all are making will go and also lots of all in fun chatter after the swap gets kicked in to full gear.

After the crafting time is done and the packages are posted and we are ready to start claiming the loot out from under everyone else, let's keep the chatter in the gallery - it will make following the thread a lot easier!  thanks guys!
