I am so excited!!! hubby got this for my birthday/anniversary present!! I had been bugging him to build me a wheel because I thought I just couldn't afford one. Then I found this one. He told me if I used it, he would make it my gift. Plus it was way easier and faster than building one!
It was $150 3 hours away. With the cost of gas it came up to $195, way less than buying new.
When we got there the lady who was selling it gave me the carders for free!!

sweet! i've had one for awhile now but i'm scared of hurting it so i still use a drop spindle.  Sad I did, however, find a book that seems like it would be helpful for learning. (I have to learn by seeing/watching... i'm special needs like that.)

I vouch for the Teach Yourself Visually Handspinning.. really excellent for beginners. Smiley
And Lucky you! I ended up daringly throwing away an entire paycheck on a wheel. Completely worth it either way!

I can't wait to get my hands on some fiber!!

Thanks for the link!

I really thought about spending my etsy money one a wheel, but were looking for a house so I decided I'd wait, until this wheel came up.

I just couldn't pass it up. The only problem I have now is keeping the cats away from it. If anyone has an idea or tip for that, I would be grateful.

Wow, congratulations!  Its beautiful.

I have no idea on keeping the cats away.  Sometimes at night my kitten will jump from one foot pedal to another to watch the wheel spin...

Nice Wheel!  I'm a little softie for Trads since that's what my wheel is.  It IS an ashford traditional, no?  Have you named it yet?  My wheel's name is Merle. It's bad luck not to name a wheel!!!!

Anyway, once you get used to the scotch tensioning, it's a breeze to use.  Smiley

Enjoy!
