Does anyone know how the bows are attached to dresses like this:

I see some of these dresses listed as "detachable bows."  How do you make them detachable?  The only thing I can come up with is that they are attached with a barret, saftey pins or pin closures.  If you attach it with a saftey pin or pin closure wouldn't parents be worried about the pin opening and sticking the child, or is this the way they are done.  Anyone with any experience with this please help.

I use safety pins.  I have a friend who has bought some from a very nice boutique on e-bay, and they used safety pins as well.

I use velcro...the really small, circular shaped kind.

the only detachable bows I've seen were done with a hook and eye set like you see on bras.
