I was thinking that a silly santa swap could be a lot of fun - and I would be up for organizing it..

My thoughts is that everyone crafts a project - nothing that needs to be fitted and only adult (not baum chicka baum baum adult - but you know what I mean, nothing for pets or children) items..
All the pictures of finished items would be sent to the organizer who would post them up in one reply so that they could all be viewed easily..
at that point each participant gets to pick one item (in order of those that signed up possibly?) or maybe even just randomly assigned - drawn out of a hat literally....
then each person could have 3 attempts to swap with someone else's item that they are set up to receive..

It would be relatively easy if the list of who is getting what is just copied and pasted and the person whose turn is selecting just changes the list...

I know it sounds confusing right now and I do have some thinking to do on how to make it work smoothly but I think it could be a ton of fun!

Okay.. not sure what would be done if the person who crafted something ends up with their own item - what are the odds of that though?

what does anyone else think?  Think it could work.

deb - do you mean like a White Elephant Christmas Swap?  Where you get one item and then keep switching until all the items are taken and you keep the one you had at that time?

If so, that sounds great!!

I have never heard of a White Elephant swap - but yup - that's exactly what I mean.  We call it a silly santa swap.

I am envisioning it kind of like the ongoing wish swap - where it is done in a line... I would randomly partner up people when it starts and then each person would have 3 attempts to get their craft item they want.. and they would not have to do it in order - I figure let the snatching go on for about a week.

I think I will post it up right before Thanksgiving so that those that would like to start crafting over the holiday weekend can... since they are just making something really great.

There is an off chance that someone would end up with their own item.. Maybe someone could volunteer to make a second item of greatness and get a second package in the mail or something - kind of like an angel but better - she would still get something in the mail.

I hope that there would be a good turnout - this could be a ton of fun - watching people steal other people's crafty treasure..!
