Note: Ill edit in a few more pictures when the sun comes back up and and I can actually take good pictures.

All were dyed with food dyes.

And a yarn I spun from a roving that my younger cousin dyed.

Wow- that is really great!

How do you get such nice, even color?

To be honest, I don't have a set method.  For the first yarn, I just soaked it in water with a glug of vinager, layed it on plastic wrap, squirted the dye onto it, squished it in with my hands, then rolled it up and steamed it.

For the rovings, I soaked them in water with a glug or two of vinager, then moved it into a roasting pan, squirted the dye on and stuck it in the oven at 250 degrees till the dye water was clear.

I think the key really is to mess around and see what works for you. :-)
