I'm branching out of garter stitch!  Shocked
And I'm trying out this new scarf pattern called "My So-Called Scarf."
It's gorgeous and actually looks like its woven.
Here's the link to the pattern:http://www.sheepinthecity.prettyposies.com/archives/000079.html

And here's a link to an instructional youtube video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKpuUxVbQtc

ALSO, EDIT Smiley : The youtube video was kind of hard to understand due to the fact that it was dark and i think the person who made it was knitting continental style..not sure. but she held the yarn in her LEFT hand...anywho.... so here's a link to a MUCH clearer and MUCH easier to understand photo tutorial by Mason Dixon Knitting. Scroll a bit less than halfway down the page. until you see a blue and green yarn on wooden needles.

Just in time for winter, too.

Who's with me?

that would finish off the fingerless gloves / calorimetry ensemble i have made for a friend for chrimbo - might make a short version, like a neck wrap

thanks for the pattern!

epsilon- both hpy_sparrow and I are using size 11 needles. My yarn calls for size 8, but i don't like using my circulars on straight projects so I just grabbed a pair of 11's. Don't know if this will affect the way it looks for better or for worse.

Can someone help me out?
i'm a bit confused with the instructions for row 1 even with the mason dixon knitting tute. after knit 1, sl 1, knit 1, and the whole passing over, am i supposed to knit 1 again? or am i just supposed to go back and repeat  kn 1, sl 1, kn 1?Huh

because ive done my first two rows and it looks kind of loopy on the back. sorry i dont know how else to describe it!
