I will be moving to Ohio from Michigan shortly. I'll be living in the middle of nowhere (coshocton/newcomerstown) but will be completing my pilates apprenticeship in Medina and hanging out with friends who live in Strongsville and Akron often. I stencil, screenprint, toy around with resin, make journals, sew, and well I'm pretty much interested in trying anything and everything crafty. From this thread it sounds like theres more options for craft stores in Ohio, here I just go to JoAnns or Michaels, so I'm wondering what stores are best for fabric and what stores are best for any other crafting neccessities. thanks!

welcome!  do you know when you're moving?  we'll have to start throwing more get togethers as summer really kicks in. that way everyone will get a chance to meet and craft.

unmadehearts - here is a list of the good places that I know about:

Fairlawn - Michael's, JoAnn's, Pat Catan's (large selection of inexpensive craft supplies)
Medina - Hobby Lobby, Pat Catan's (I think it's a million times better than the Fairlawn one)

There's also a fabric store where I live (downtown Wadsworth - about 15 minutes from Medina) that has an amazing selection of fabric

Thank you! My dad has an interview in Coshocton tomorrow morning and him and my mom are there right now and well I dont think they are too impressed, we knew we'd be moving to the middle of nowhere but I think they still expected a bit more out there. I'm trying to convince them to move closer to Millersburg that way I'm only an hour south of strongsville (my exbf/bestfriend lives there) I'm in the Clevo area all the time so I would definitely be interested in the next get together!

Virginia Marti College and Kathy's Sewing in lakewood has a lot of sewing classes.  Both are on Detroit Ave.
I haven't taken any at either.  I think the Lakewood Rec offers sewing classes sometimes.  I think the Hoops and Hollers store in north olmsted does too.

I was out of town.  I heard it was good.  My friend has her ceramics there.  She said she did better than crocker park the week before.

Hi Long Lost Crafty Friends,
I hope you have had NO FUN at all, without me Smiley
Our beautiful little guy, who is now approaching 8 months old, has been trying to scare the crap out of his mommies by doing horrible medical stuff, trying to stop breathing, stopping in for a surgery, and more.  Needless to say, we've been a bit busy.
It is now 6 weeks past his latest surgery and we have been given the go ahead to semi-socialize.
Anyone up for a get together?
Let's get started again, I miss the idea of having all these cool friends Smiley
Let me know if anyone's available.  I'm home all the time with him, my dream job.
Hope to hear from y'all.
Jen
