Reminds me of this time I was in a second cup coffee shop that sits at the entrance of a Jewish community center. It was near Christmas time so second cup had their festive red coffee sleeves and my friend had put one on each of my wrists. Well I innocently kept moving them up my arm until they were as far up as they would go... opps. I have never seen him react that fast and was still clueless as he ripped them off my arms. yikes

BUT! Look at your potholder, then look at a Nazi flag. THEIR swastika stands on its point/corner. Yours lays on its side. Different. :-)
But yeah, the swastika was around waaay longer in eastern art/traditions.

when i worked in daycare we were stamping with alphabet letters and one kid accidentally spelled The Eff Word, nice and clear in the middle of the page. the parents didn't find it as funny as i did

I'm with the Silver, the swastika isn't really a Nazi symbol. They stole it. It's actually a religious symbol: Hindu, I believe, and it's a symbol for good fortune.
I hope my memory is correct. A girl in one of my classes back in high school wore one and they told her she had to remove it. She tried explaining it was a religious symbol, much like a Christian cross, but they told her it was offensive and had to go.
