This happened to me just the other day!  I was looking at something in the swap section, and I tried to close a window, and it all went insane.  I actually had 78 IE--craftster windows open on my desktop before I could restart the computer.  I just bought my computer in September, so I'm pretty sure that everything should be up to date. (haha)

This is happening to me CONSTANTLY now (like daily), but only ever when I'm on Craftster only.

It must have something to do with my style of viewing craftster - I open up several tabs of the different pages I want to look at (but not, say, 78 of them...)... and then they just open and open. I'll try out the alt-f4 though. Sometimes I can get the control-alt-delete to work to close them all at once though.

Superhooker, what version is your IE?  I think there have been updates since September. Cheesy

this problem is also happening to me. the first time i experienced it was last week. i didnt know what to do. the windows were opening so fast that i just had to shut my computer down.

This week it has happened to me every day. I was freaked out thinking it was just me until i found this thread. I noticed it happens when i click a link to open in a new window. it could be a link to a profile, another thread, etc. nothing specific.

I have moved up from shutting down my PC and now i am quick to pull up my task manager and just keep clicking end task until the windows stop appearing.

I hope that it can be figured out soon. I will ask the IT department at my job if they have ever heard of such a thing.

This has been happening to me too!

It seems to only happen when I have multple tabs open with various craftster pages showing

This link seemed to be causing the problem;
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=277365.msg3139106#msg3139106

I ran a virus check and nothing was detected, I'm running the latest version of IE and keep upto date with updates etc, laptop only 6 months old...

It's only been happening to me in the last week or so, and its pretty sporadic, seems to happen more if i try to close down the tab before it's had time to load properly but once the window pops up its impossible to get rid of and I end up shutting down or restarting.

Okay, I was just going to say I was using IE version 7... but apparently there are decimal points? It also just happened to me twice here (and I'm not at home).

To find out which version you currently use, go to Help, About -- then read the version number.
