Its Fibre Friday already!  Well, it is in the UK anyway...  Wink

Here's my only offering this week, it's a some space-dyed Merino in all kinds of weird colours (pink, yellow, brown and natural!).  Its plied with more of the same.

Can't wait to see what you've all been busy with!   Grin

WOW! I was about to say that I liked the bright orange most, but on closer inspection, I have to say that I love all the colours most! Cheesy Great job Smiley

*Edit: On even CLOSER inspection, I noticed that you didn't even USE orange, duh! Roll Eyes*

I'm quite jealous of all you folks who can make your own yarn.  All I can say to you is WOW -- let's knit!  Beautiful mix!

Looks great, skeffto - love how bright and squishy it looks.

Here is what I did this week:

"The Pier" - wool

"Lady Pirate" - wool

Have a great Friday!

I spun some manly yarn this week for DH's hat.  Its made with wool and alpaca in grays, browns, greens and black.  I LOVE the way it spun up - and so does DH.  Sorry I have yet to take an action shot even though he has not taken the hat off in days.

I have two this week.
The first is "Lady of the Lake"
74 yards
Bulky/novelty Art yarn
corriedale & mohair corespun around cotton thread with slubs, seed beads and glass leaf beads

This is "butternut squash"
115 yards 1.7oz
Sport weight
Coopworth 70% Silk 30% blend
Navajo Plied

I spun this on my new wheel a Majacraft littlegem 2 and I'm so in love with the way this wheel spins. I'm not ready to give up my louet jut yet but I'm getting there.

Weddy, join us anyway!  Your yarn DEFINITELY doesn't have to be perfect to be posted on Fiber Friday.  The point of this board is just to celebrate all things fiber, and I bet that includes your yarn!   Grin

My favorites so far are the "Ladies"...Lady of the Lake and Lady Pirate!

Here's my contribution for the week...I've been in a blue mood lately.  But not in a depressed sort of way.   Just in a color sort of way.   Wink

Deep Sea Diving.  Superwash merino, navajo-plied.  151 yards, 4.0 oz.

And the much more muted Robin's Nest.  Merino wool, heavy worsted/bulky.  217 yards, 3.8 oz.

First out is Go Ducks! Which I spun while watching Oregon Ducks beat ASU.. haha. But I had dyed it over a year ago. It is natural dyes again: turmeric, indigo, and madder root. Its 2 ply, worsted weight and 4.2 oz.

Second! 100% baby angora (unnamed so far) - SO amazingly soft. I love it beyond belief. This is its natural color (beautiful!) Its 3 ply, sport weight and ~4 oz.

I absolutely love every yarn this week! I haven't been spinning much as I've been busy packing and doing stuff for out new house not to mention whipping up some presents for some new parents.

I spun this one from some california red fiber that I was given. This is my third attempt at spinning on a wheel and I love it. It's thick and thin and has these tiny red hairs in it. Has anyone tried dying california red?

And here is a series of mini skeins I'm working on.

This one was spun on my drop spindle and an attempt at making a scrap yarn. I love the randomness of these scrap yarns.

And this sister skein was my second attempt at spinning on a wheel. It's slightly thicker that the previous yarn.

I have one more skein that I'm working on for this series. I am going to throw all the left over scraps into a drum carder and see what comes out.
Thanks for looking!

I've been holding back the news, but I bought an Ashford Traditional from Craig's List last Friday.  I was so happy.  So today is my first Fiber Friday to show a true, long skein.  (Not the little measly ones from the drop spindles.)  This is generic wool that has streaks of red, blue, violet, and yellow in a green base.  It reads green from a distance, but up close you can see all of the subtleties.  I left it and am knitting it as a slubby single.

I'm so happy to finally have a wheel!!!!

My first Fiber Friday posting, yay!  Cheesy  Everyone's yarn is so gorgeous, I love it all this week!

Sunny Seas, no plans for it yet...

Rhubarb Garden, which I'm going to knit into a wrap-type thing for my mom

Cotton Candy Punk, which I'm still spinning...I'm thinking of knitting it into a hat

B&W, which is a lot thinner than the others, not sure what to do with it...and there's not much of it, I'll have to spin some more  Smiley

I'm still learning...these are the first real skeins I've spun so far, and they're all pretty small  Wink  I dyed all the roving myself too, with the exception of B&W...which I'm pretty proud of, but I definitely need more practice!

So much gorgeous yummy yarn, but what I most love and adore and want to take home with me is Robins Nest by Nicolassa and The Pier by Grayling40.

One of these years I'll learn how to spin, in the mean time I will admire everyone else's work.

I'm so late, but it was finished earlier this week...
This might be the ugliest yarn I've spun...  The pictures make it look much nicer than it is.

Each batt was a totally different colour, but I didn't notice since I do all of my spinning at night...  I loved spinning the fibre but am so sad about the colours Sad  I think I'll switch back to undyed roving for a bit Smiley

Everyone's yarn looks great!  I wish I could spin singles that didn't need to be plied.

I'm chiming in late as well.

I've got three yarns, all for Xmas presents:

The first is called Chocolate Strawberry.  It's 100% Alpaca.  I spun a red laceweight and plied it with an undyed single. (1 skein)

The second is called Northern Lights.  It's 100% wool (corriedale) and SO lovely.  It has blue, teal, grey, brown, black and green in it.  It's Navajo Plied so that it will have a really nice, subtle self-stripe when it's knit up.  I've been going crazy with the self-striping.   (7 skiens)

Finally, this is 100% undyed alpaca.  It's a worsted weight, and absolutely lovely to knit.  It's going to be a scarf for my brother in law. (4 skiens)

maybe you could dunk it in some dye, and revive it?
the colors don't look so bad, but maybe it is just the pictures.
or better yet, use it for test yarn for a project.
