Hi all, I am the same one who had the cherry blossomed apartment -->http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=143297.0 -  a while back. Well, I moved after graduating from college, and my new place kicks my old place's butt. I'm posting my fun thrifted/revamped/painted/crafted kitchen for all to see, I'm pretty happy with how it came out!  I think I spent a total of $30-$40 on everything, including supplies and furniture.  Hooray for good thrift stores!  I guess I call this my "Western Swing" room.  Oh yes, and I'd just made dinner when I took these, so excuse the food... my boyfriend insisted I take pics with the table set!

Curtain detail:  I used pearl snaps to hold up the accent curtain over the gingham "utility" curtain. Each part of the curtains are edged with pom-pom trim, and there are rickrack hearts on the gingham which you can't see. They're cute.

Focal point is this lovely dame above my stove - "Miss Western Swing 1942" - (I'm a pinup artist also, that's why there's the visual attack of pinups everywhere!)

My cabinets were boring - I found a thread on here discussing the use of ribbons to decorate, so I glued ribbon around my doors with hot glue (peels off when I'm done, with no trace!).  The ribbons echo the giant racing stripe/pinstripe around the room.

I made some really cute potholders from "state souvenir" fabric, super retro Smiley  The tabs are held on with pearl snaps.

I found this very beat-up stool at the thrift store for 5 bucks. I cleaned it, sanded, and with a coat of aqua, she was ready to roll. However, I also decided to attempt pinstriping on the seat, for my first time it came out pretty well.

I think that's it!  Thanks for looking. No chairs as of yet, I have to find the right ones to match the table. I'll be adding a new post of my bedroom sometime soon (when I actually get everything cleaned up Sad).
