and now for something completely different: being a sucker for camo and stars, and wanting a new bag, i created this:

http://www.firebaby.co.uk/front.jpg

http://www.firebaby.co.uk/side.jpg

http://www.firebaby.co.uk/flap.jpg

it's black cotton drill lined and piped with ripstop camo. there's interfacing on the front and back, but not the sides or flap, so it's sturdy, but not boxy. i really like the way it turned out, but it looks loads better IRL than it does in the pictures.

REALLY really nice!! How did you sew on the stars? The piping looks great, how do you do that?

there's a great piping tutorial here: http://www.lekkner.com/diypiping.html

and the stars were zigzagged on to secure them, and then i adjusted the zigzag stitch to make it denser and wider, so it was more like a satin stitch, and sewed over the edges.
