Hello! I can't figure out how to post my pictures so please check out my blog on how I recycle old lightbulbs into Christmas Ornaments. I use regular acrylic paint which adheres very well to the bulb if it is cleaned with rubbing alcohol. I seal with an acrylic sealer. Thanks for looking!

My friend and I are getting together this weekend for a Christmas gift crafting session. I've already bookmarked this one.

Sooo cute!

I made Santa and Snowman ones years ago but I adore your penquins. I will have to start saving bulbs for next year and try some of those.

Those are adorable!  And so beautifully painted too!  I also love the spool ornaments.

Hi Krafty Kristen.  Your recycled ornaments are quite professional looking.  My friends and I save our burned out lightbulbs for my kindergarten ornament project.  I have old fingernail polishes and the kindergarteners paint dots on the old bulbs.  I turn an egg carton lid upside down and the bottom upside down and slit a hole so that the lightbulb can stand upright for painting the fingernail dots.  After drying, I put a wire on the neck and an open paperclip for the hanger, and wrap around the neck that gold tinsel(the wide rope kind) and the ends of it hang down around the dotted ornament.  The ornaments turn out darling for the kindergarteners to take home as a gift.  To transport, the ornaments are wrapped in many layers of recycle plastic bags.  Just a thought on a crude use of recycled lightbulbs.  Marcia
