I seem to have lots of red tissue paper that I want out of my house. I want to make something for a friend whos been down lately. I've covered a wooden box in some of it that I'm going to put other things I've crafted in for her. Any idea what to do with the rest?

since Valentine's Dy is coming up, you could make lots of fluffy flowers and give them to your valentine- dump them on him!!

The coolest thing ever to do with tissue paper is make lamps.  You can create a wire frame and affix the tissue paper to it, then get a light socket kit from a hardware store and put it inside.

Maybe these will give you some ideas:

Those *do* look tricky, but I do have lots of it, so I can handle some trial and error.

A couple of small ideas:

Party Poppers: http://www.imagitek.com/xmas/crafts/cracker.html

Small Gift Pinatas:

Both of these would be good to make several filled with small presents (chocolate!) and arranged in a basket or the wooden box you mentioned.

Along the pinata thing... This is all hypothetical... but what if you made heart packages...

Blow up two balloons and paper mache with the tissue paper. When dry, pop the balloon and remove. Cut each container so that it looks like half a heart... fill with candy, etc. and seal up the two halfs with hot glue. You might want to hide the seam with some ribbons.

Oooh I like this! Or maybe go to a party supply store and get heart shaped balloons to use.

I'd read the whole pinata thing a long time ago and intended to make them for christmas but never did. Thanks to everyone for reminding me!

That is such a good idea!

I have to stop coming here...   my boyfriend is gonna get so much for Vday, I don't think I'll have time to make all I want to make!!!

I'm also thinking of making some heart shaped paper chains out of them and sending them to friends as valentine's day greetings.
