After seeing this: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=202337.0 post, I had to make my own.  I am stash busting right now, and had the self striping yarn (Paintbox 3, Spring Moss) leftover from some other projects. The cream yarn in encore. I got a bright idea to knit sweaters for my bro +husband, then realized I had no interest in knitting a giant sweater for either of them, so now I'm knitting hats out of all of that.

Anyway, the hat is this hat from magknits:  http://www.magknits.com/Nov06/patterns/fakeisle.htm with this: http://www.supermitten.com/images/SkullCharts.gif to replace the middle pattern.

As for the earflaps, I just picked up 18 stitches, and knitted the chart (3 stiches of seed on either side) and decreased a bit when I got done with the chart. If anyone is dying to know details I'm sure I could write down specifically what I did.  Anywhos here's the pics!

Thank you Smiley The stripes were a bit of a pain, I kept forgetting to carry the cream up the i-cord and I kept having to rip! You can't see it, but after the i-cord I have 10 inch braids, which the cat is trying to eat right now.

ooo... I love your hat!  The ear flaps especially, they make it!  (I could just be partial to earflaps... they're too cute)
