My friend picked out this great Blue Sky 100% Organic Cotton Yarn for her blanket. I was really surprised by how soft a cotton yarn could feel! The only bad thing about it is that it fuzzes on everything it touches. I'm hoping that it will stop with a few washes.

Big Bad Baby Blanket:
Pattern: Big Bad Baby Blanket from Stitch N Bitch
Modifications: I made the side borders 12 stitches (instead of 10) and the inner part 102 stitches (instead of 106). To me it made the border look a little more even than with only 10 stitches.
Needes: Size 9
Size: 38" x 38"
It took me a couple of days to get about 6" into it. And then the rest only took me 2 days of intense knitting! The blanket took exactly 3 balls of Willow and 2 balls of Bone.

Hat:
Pattern: My own!
I made the hat and booties out of an extra ball of Willow.

One Hour Booties:
Pattern: One Hour Booties in Stitch N Bitch Nation
(Sorry about the bad lighting. I had to take this picture at night.)

It is so pretty. I love the color. I am working on the Knitty Latifa scarf in the Blue Sky cotton yarn (different colors) and I love it! I can't believe how light and soft it it. I was just thinking how great it would be for a blanket. Yours is so nice I have to make one of my own! Very even stitch work too BTW.

I love your blanket!  I am working on my second BBBB and I have been thinking about doing the border in a different color.  I really like the way yours turned out.  Was it very difficult to switch colors for the edge on every row?

Thanks everyone! My friend just got the set in the mail today and she loved it. Smiley

I definitely say try the colored border! Switching colors wasn't bad at all. Just look up the instructions for both intarsia, and garter intarsia. Because the border is in seed stitch, sometimes you'll be doing straight intarsia (both yarns in back), and sometimes you'll need to do garter intarsia.
