Hello All,

This is a vey simple ruffle scarf that I've made for my mother-in-law for Christmas. The yarn is Wendy Allegra, which I don't recommend as I think it's a bit too scratchy. I'm wondering whether or not I should give it to her after all - I'm quite sensitive to scratchy yarn and my hubby says its fine (but then he is a bloke!), so maybe it's ok. Hmmmm.... Anyhow pics and patterns:

Pattern

Yarn:      Wendy Allegra (50g) x 3 - 32% Alpaca 31% Acrylic 37% Polyester
Hook:      6.00mm

Please note:
I use British crochet terms. For American terms, substitute tr with dc and dc with sc.

Chain 170.
Row 1:   I tr in 4th chain from hook. I tr into each ch across. Turn.
Row 2:    Ch 3. 1 tr into first tr. [2 tr into next tr, tr into next tr] repeat until end.
Rows 3 - 6:   Repeat row 2.
Fasten off.

To finish
Join in yarn to first chain of foundation chain. Ch 1 and dc into each ch across.
Fasten off.?Weave in ends.

There's a few more pics and ramblings on my blog http://kittyboocrochet.wordpress.com/2008/08/10/ruffle-scarf-pdf/

Scratchy or not it's very pretty, and really nice of you to share the pattern! Nice job, and thanks!

Of course tattoos hurt...they're applied with needles, not kitten whiskers and bunny tails.

Pretty pretty!

For scratchyness, maybe make a swatch and send it through the wash, and if it doesnt felt, then wash the scarf with a few big glugs of fabric softener?

If it does felt, I would think you could wash it by hand, instead.

Thanks very much for the tip tehandehness. I have a bit of leftover yarn so I will give that a try.

It's cute! Give it to her anyway. If you are worried about it you could tell her that it ended up scratchier then you wanted but that she could wear it under the lapels of a coat as an accent piece.
