First snow fall of the year and I'm stuck inside with a sick kid.  So, something to cheer us up and do something I've had bookmarked for years.

Here's the method: http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.0e0eb51a2e6b5ad593598e10d373a0a0/?vgnextoid=34b12e912b11f010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&autonomy_kw=crayon%20hearts&rsc=ns2006_m1

Our first go:

Woodpecker theme choosen by 3 yr old (who else?)

Then, a mobile.  An ode to time change maddness* because I don't know if I'm coming or going.

I started to do this with my 3 yr old, but she quickly lost interest, while I lost the entire morning to ruining my iron and tying little strings, while the kid tore the house apart.

pretty, but worth it?

Anyway, love to hear others stories of working with the crayons!

*For those who do not have such a beast, 'Daylight Savings Time' ended for us sat nite, which means we set our clock back by an hour.  A small thing, but when a wee one rules your day, an hour is A BIG DEAL.  DST is anti-order, pro-whiny chaos.

That brings back so many memories.  I remember doing a similar craft with my mom when I was little.  Those are awesom!

Those would be so much fun to do! Plus, they turned out so pretty... Too bad I just threw away all of my kids' crayons because I was tired of them being thrown everywhere and eaten by the puppy.  Sad

I did this last year with autumn leaves shapes and hung them from the window frame to create a  little leaf valance. It was so cute, I wish I had pictures. Your always such an inspiration! I'll have to give this another go and share and tell this time around.

ah, well, don't worry, crayons are omnipresent - just when you think you've gotten them all, more turn up (and in your case, you can recover some when the puppy gets sick  Cheesy)
