Halloween is over and it's time to work on Christmas crafts! I sat down last night and worked this dove, hopefully the first of a set.

Embroidered on felt, using satin stitch, chain stitch, fern stitch, straight stitch, lazy-daisy, French knot, cable chain stitch, outline stitch, running stitch, whipped chain stitch,  blanket stitch,  and heavy chain stitch.

Unfortunately,  the quilting didn't show up very well.

Full shot;

Detail of head;

Detail of tail;

I  needed a project to take my mind off the craft challenge. Cheesy

That is awesome! Did you use a pattern or did you make it up yourself?

I really like this. I haven't tried those stitches before and now think I might try it once the fear subsides.  Wink What do you think you will do with it?

Thanks!

I found the outline of the dove online, but dew it off slightly different. The designs are all my own.

It's going to be a Christmas tree ornament. I'm hoping to have 6-12 of them done for the holidays.

This reminds me of some of the ornaments we had on the tree when I was a child!  I love it and you have inspired me to make some of my own.

If only I were psychic...

I keep pretty busy...not only do I have these doves to embroider, but also four tote-bags, two shirts, my tablecloth, that spare set of pillowcases, my grandmother's two Christmas gifts, and I think I'm going to make a pink and white dove for my aunt, who is going through chemo. She needs cheering up. Smiley That should keep me through the contest voting. Smiley

( For like, three years, haha.)

Good luck with the contest by the way!

HOLY!!!  Shocked That's a lot of projects to be working on at once! I can do one, maybe two, projects at a time. I need the satisfaction of finishing something to give me the drive to move onto the next thing. So I'm working away making a doll every day as Christmas presents for my daughters and neices. It helps a little.  Smiley
Good luck to you as well. (And I really do mean it.)

The white one is pretty, but so is this one. The colors of this are so modern. Smiley
