Going back to that parrot toy thing...I do have a pet parrot and I'll tell you that one fun thing is crafting parrot toys for him! There's no point dropping megabucks on a fancy bird toy from the petshop when your bird prefers stuff from the craft store!
Plus crafting is an activity we do together: The bird sits on my shoulder and "supervises." (I always have some bird-safe crafty items handy for him to "steal"! Grin)

I think it would be really cool to paint them different colors and string them together for a belt...   but maybe I just like strange looking belts...

yeah, i have a bunch of these too. and alas i don't have a parrot either. I was thinking I could make a card curtain (it was posted by some one somewhere) and at the top attach the curtain hooks so it could be all woosh! back and forth on the curtain rod. but yeah that is basicly the same thing as someone else already wrote...

It was me that posted the card curtain, and I wish I had you around when I was making it!  That sounds so much easier than my "tie the yarn around the hairbrush" idea!  I think definetly handcrafted curtains (beaded or paper or whatever) could benefit from the shower curtain things!

i have a pack of 12 and i too do not know what to do with them. but here are some ideas that i thought of:
you can use them as "o" or 'd' rings
if they are big enough you can boil some water and shape them into a bracelet
connect them and hang the two edges onto the wall and put random stuff on it
if you have thick enough hair you can decorate them and use them as hair ties

that's all i can think of for now

You can attach fun different foam shapes to them and use them as napkin holders. A much nicer cheap way to make napkin holders. And ohh, when I say napkin holders I mean the ones you put around cloth napkins. You could make a set big enough for your family.

Bringing back an old topic, but I have an extra pack, so I needed ideas.

I like the gluing them together for a pencil or toothbrush holder

I'm trying to think of other dorm-efficient ideas, and I thought of maybe attatching them to a hanger to loop my belts and ribbons through.
