for my boyfriends birthday this year i wanted to do something really creative. so i got to thinking, when we watch patch adams, both of our favorite parts is when patch fills the room full of balloons.  i took some inspiration from the movie and decided blow up balloons. his favorite sports team is the wildcats (university of ky) thus making is favorite color blue, so all the balloons were the teams colors.  now heres the sweet part i typed up 50 short love notes (not all were notes though, i had coupons, and memories in there too) and filled some of the balloons with them. i underestimated the difficulty in blowing all the balloons up by mouth, so i stayed up all night the night before (almost passing out a few times from lack of oxygen).

i also put up blue an white streamers all over my room and a big blue ribbon on my door.  he came over later that day to get his "surprise" and when he opened the door he was in awe.

he said the first thing he noticed was the color.  but then i handed him a needle and told him he had to pop them all and find 50 surprise hidden in them, it took him about 45mins popping and reading them all.  he now has them all over his bulletin board and even keeps some in his wallet "just in case"

Grin Cheesy Wink

If anyone is still reading this post, I have a little update
the other night my boo actually reached into his pocket and pulled out one of the coupons that i had put into his balloons.  and his birthday was back in September. he told me this was the best birthday he ever had. it made me feel so good to know that

aww if i was a boy, i would wish you were my girlfriend! ^_^ that's so cute! how did you get the notes into the balloons though? did you roll them up or something? i've tried to put things in balloons, it's not easy.

i actually typed them up double spaced, and printed them out, then cut them into strip and slid them in before i blew it up.  the only ones i really had any trouble with were the long notes that took up two lines.  they were to wide to fit through the mouth of the balloon, so i folded them hotdog style and slide them in that way
