Tired of having all my needles bound together with a hair-tie, inspired by all the beautiful needle rolls I've been seeing on here, and masterfully guided by Lupinbunny's tutorial, I made this!

All tied up, safe and sound:

This is lovely and the fabrics you have used are gorgeous.  How long did it take you to make and did you find it difficult in any way at all?

I want to say a big THANK YOU actually.  In the last couple of days I have been looking for a tutorial for this very item (I have recently bought some bamboo knitting needles) but I haven't found anything that I have deemed useful.   I was beginning to think I might have to make up my own.  I have checked out the link you supplied in your message and this is exactly what I am looking for (although I am just wanting to make a roll for the knitting needles only and not the additional pockets for other items).  The instructions are so easy I was making the item in my head  Cheesy - is that a good thing?

Thanks again.

Thank you - it took me about three hours to make, from cutting to finished. The instructions are really clear and the pictures made all the difference.

Tricky thing... when sewing the inner (and pockets) to the outer, I trimmed the batting down to the seam allowance and folded the outer fabric over the batting. It just meant there was less bulk at the top.

Changes... I didn't sew down the flap at the top (because I didn't want to), and I changed the width of some of the pockets.

If you wanted to make it for needles alone, you could just sew down each line, with maybe a couple of wider pockets for bigger needles?

I love love love the fabric colors you chose.

And thanks for the tute link. I made one for myself I just made up in my head, which did turn out great. But this one has more detail, and may help me design future ones.
