everyone's making coats these days... maybe the moderators should make a special section for overcoats... i wish i could join in the fun, but seeing as i already have a perfectly serviceable one of my own, must covet from afar...

It was kind of like...well, heres the bodice. Sewed up the sides, put it on, figured out where to put darts...cut out some sleeves...sewed those on, cut the lower half of the coat out, realized I had cut the fabric too wide (hence the pleats), figured out facings and crap...Oh and THEN I got to figured out how to line it. Then I attached the collar and kind of finished it up from there.

that has got to be the best quote i have heard in a long time.
i love the jacket, i love to sew, but coats have always looked difficult, but then again my next project is to make 2 full kimonos and the shoes before april. O.o
