I love these hands- they look like henna designs! A great idea!

Your work is beautiful.  The concept is clever and as posted earlier, your skill is exquisite.  I am in love with your work.  :)You are awesome on many levels.

on a personal note-THANK YOU
You have inspired me to pick up my neglected hoops, needles and floss again.  I haven't touched them for over 10 years.  When you mentioned that your grandma called the knot a forbidden knot, I remembered that my own dear grandma taught me to embrioder as a young girl.  I have been tearing up thru this whole post.  Cry One of the wonderful things about crafts to me is the memories of creating for and with my loved ones who have gone, my grandmothers and mother.  My sister and I are the only women left on both sides of my immediate family and those memories are precious to me.  Thank you for bringing them back to me with this project.

Sorry to ramble-I had to say it all.

These are absolutely fantastic! They remind me of the signs that palm readers hang outside (only much beter!) or maybe some henna tattoos (once again, only better  Wink)....I think you did a great job.

This just shows I need to actually learn embroidery (didn't even know there were different types of stitches or anything  Undecided).

Fab job!!

Thanks again guys for the kind words. Smiley

daiconharuko--I'm glad you recognized the left hand /right hand superstition! Not many people remember that one. I personally don't believe it, ( though I' can be pretty superstititious) but I thought it went well with the dark/light aspects of the design! Cheesy

blue_concubine--That  is so sad and beautiful! I'm sure your grandmother would be proud to see you taking up this old art again! I wish you lot's of luck and enjoyment, and may your work be passed along to the future and treasured!
