I made this clock for my dad for Father's day back in '01.  The hardest part, actually, was smiling sweetly when the cashier informed me that a circular blade "was not a frisbee, dear."

The clock mechanism was spaced with various washers, and the hour demarcations were done with gold bolts (for contrast on the silver saw).

Awesome!  So clever!

Where did you find the clock mechanism and the clock hands?  Whenever I see "clock kits" in craft stores or woodworking stores the hands are really plain and boring.  I'd love to know where to get cool looking ones.

So awesome! I can see this in a garage or workroom. That's hilarious, what the cashier said.  Wink

The best part occured when I presented the clock to my dad.  (I had used nuts and bolts from his collection.)  He said, "So, what you're telling me is, is that you went through my workbench, took my stuff, and are now giving it back to me as a gift?"  ::grin::

Also, the note I affixed to the box read: Dad, here is your Father's Day Gift.  I hope you notice this box is, in fact, ticking.  Heh, heh.

I bought this particular kit at Pearl Paint in Long Island, New York.  Website: http://www.pearlpaint.com/  -- though their website presents only a smattering of what they actually have in stock.   Their stores are a wonderful blend of art and craft and hobby supply.
