this idea started off with me joking about what my friend and i could be, but he wanted to do it, so we did.

my costume (Ash):
-shoes, bought a long time ago
-jeans, "borrowed" (indefinitely) from one of my best friends
-tshirt, borrowed from one of my residents
-shirt, reconned from two shirts
-hat, reconned with extra white fabric from one of my shirts with the symbol (that you can't see) sharpied on
-gloves, self-crocheted

his costume  (Pikachu):
-shoes (not really part of it) his own
-pants, his own (pikachu was standing on a stump)
-pikachu feet, (that you can't see) he cut out, drew on toes, and sewed on himself (old, yellow, thrifted sheet)
-pikachu tail, we both made with cardboard, the old, yellow, thrifted sheet, thrifted brown material, a brown sharpie, and a stapler (it was sfety pinned to his pants and in two places to his hoodie)
-pikachu ears, we both made those out of the old, yellow, thrifted sheet, the reverse side of the thrifted brown fabric, and stuffed with polyfil
-pikachu beanie, i crocheted and appliquéd crocheted eyes and nose
-hoodie, american apparel hoodie i bought for him and appliquéd stripes        on with the brown thrifted fabric
-tshirt, extra blank shirt i had for stenciling

it went over really well, except some of my friends (who didn't know pokemon or saw me without pikachu) thought i was a truck driver or homeless person.
he painted on his red cheeks with costume make up and i did the "lightning bolts" on my cheeks with eyeliner (these you also can't see).
i wish i had better pictures of us.
i have a lot of pictures of his costume i haven't uploaded yet.

i know he looks like he's being tortured, but he asked me to take pictures of him and posed himself.

this is so funny! I actually have a friend who sort of did this a few years ago w/ her boyfriend, only she went as "pica-ho" and he went as  "gothic ash"... it was hilarious!
