Hello Craftsters! I just finished my first dress ever and I'm so excited to show it to you guys. =)

Tomorrow night my family is going out to eat for my parents' birthdays, and I had nothing to wear. I've been wanting to make a dress for a long time, and I thought this was the perfect excuse to do so! I love the fabric it's made out of, dark blue and very soft. It took two hours to make. Best part is, it probably cost less than $5 to make!

On to the pictures! Sorry for the not so great webcam shots..

This is so cool.  I've been wanting to get a dress like this one.  What is it made off?  It kind of looks like a t-shirt but I don't know.  I would love to make one.  nice job  Cheesy

It's some kind of knit material. Pretty stretchy and very soft. I love it. Grin

Adorable!  I'm a firm believer in the fact that one can never have too many knit dresses.

erm. first of all, that is seriously ace. I've got so much lovely fabric lying around (including the softest, drapiest stretch knit... in the most  ridiculous shade of purple  Lips sealed) that cost nothing... or barely anything, anyway. but I still daren't cut into it. although I've toyed, too, with the idea of making myself a plain black dress to wear forever (like the little brown dress project:  http://www.littlebrowndress.com/index.htm - hopefully this'll inspire you too!), I just haven't quite got there yet. this may have just provided that extra twinge of inspiration! thankyou Smiley

...and well done! you were right to be excited.  Wink
