I made this baby blanket for a friend from work, whose wife had a baby.  I incorporated the baby's initials into the fabric with Fair Isle (although I haven't mastered making the stitches blend in properly yet).  The blanket is a hybrid between the S'nB Big, Bad Baby Blanket, and a leaf border featured in Knitting On The Edge.  I did it in Cascade 220 Superwash, 'cause handwashing baby puke out of merino didn't seem like it would be high on the priority list of new parents.
I didn't do so hot on the joining, either, but overall I think it turned out well for my first blanket.  It was hard to part with, but I'm hoping they'll keep it as an heirloom for a long time.  That or just let Conner roll around and spit up on it, then throw it in the washing machine. Smiley

Thanks for looking. Smiley

That is absolutely lovely. I love the color! I would be honored to get something like this. And I would not only use it, but save it as an heirloom as well.

You did an AWESOME job!  I really like the border, and I think the way you incorporated several patterns into one unique piece worked really well.

You did a great job on this. I love it's simple elegance. You don't find that in many baby blankets.

That is a beauty! Love the color and the personal touch to the BBBB pattern. Conner's a lucky kiddo, and you are a very thoughtful co-worker -- that's an amazing gift!
