I am just curious if 100% wool sock yarn (ie knitpicks peruvian wool) felts when you wear it as a sock. It's not superwash, so wouldn't it felt? TIA for any explanations Smiley

I have only knit socks with superwash wool, but I have heard people say that some non-superwash wool sock yarns do felt when you wear them, especially if your feet get a bit damp when wearing.  I hear it happens mostly in the heel/toe area.

I've had superwash (Lorna's Laces SS) full a little in areas where there is lots of wear- mostly the ball of my foot.

Unless you were doing some serious sweating and agitation, I can't imagine that it would get too bad- you may loose some stitch definition but it won't necessarily become like felt (though I have heard some types became uncomfortable with serious w&t). I have some non-superwash wool socks that are fulling a little at the heel and ball of my foot, but not enough that it is nflexible and uncomfortable.

I've only completed one pair out of none superwash 100% wool so far and because I'm a bit afraid that it could felt, I'm not wearing them with my sneakers  Cool
So far it just fulled a bit like zeeblebee described, a bit on the heel and ball of foot. But then I'm not wearing the socks too often.
