About it being offensive, everything about halloween is offensive!! Hello?!!! Bullets in heads, bloody bodies, dead people, decapitated people, everything! So I think arguing about it is somewhat pointless.

what a fantastic point! we tend to totally forget this.

Halloween was originally a children's holiday.

Uh...I think you'll find otherwise, love.

But you're right - the only way to get people to stop making 'sexy' kids costumes is to stop buying them - and to talk about it.

i'm not going to debate the whole bad taste thing since i am anti personal preferances debates lol but *I* feel like this costume is great, for the obvious reasons like it makes people think, but also the statement... last year i went dressed like a slut and i had pigtails in my hair and a lollypop and i told everyone my costume was an 8 year old (i did a whole lot of explaining, as well as having people with kids dressed like sluts giving me dirty looks)... it was for basically the same reasons you stated... i am a morbid sort so i think your costume rocked just because... but in any case i think you hit the nail on the head in every case, kudos to you! no matter what anyone else thinks, you did what YOU wanted, and this IS still a free country, i hope next year you do something equally as amusing, smart, thought provoking and entertaining (even in a morbid sense)

This has to be one of 'the' sickest twisted things I have ever seen - I love it!  Grin so well done you.

The message here is: whatever you want the message to be.  Whether you be pro or anti abortion (I prefer the word termination) that is up to you the individual.  We all have our opinion on the subject be either way and they are very strong ones at that - which is great because as many of you have said it gets the nation talking.

As for children dressing 'sexy' for Halloween.  I'm British in the UK and we get that here *all of the time*.  When I was 8 years old I was wearing flat lace up shoes - now they (the girls that is  Cheesy) are wearing high heels and boob tubes.  As a friend of my ex boyfriends said the other day: Halloween is the ideal holiday for the agoraphobic paedophile.

i *love* your costume. but i also like when people throw caution to the wind and don't care if they're offensive in name of making their point. and i look at it and see someone who's pro-abortion and pro-choice, simply because someone who was anti-abortion.. i really doubt that person would even think of that for a costume.

also, in the other thread with this costume, someone was talking about how you'd have to explain your costume to everyone or they wouldn't get it - that's like 75% of costumes i see at parties. they all have explanations for them because people like obscure costumes.

but i do think you put a lot of effort forth in your costume and it shows. the fact that you made all those little fetus' to give away is amazing! just great craftiness.

honestly, i had no idea that there were 'sexy' little kid costumes now. i stayed in all day hallowe'en cuz i was feeling under the weather. but honestly? if i was handing out candy and a kid came to my door dressed in what should be an adult's costume, i would not give her candy and i'd tell her why and i'd tell her to tell her parents to grow up. it REALLY disgusts me the way parents let their kids dress these days. the number of 4 year olds wearing heeled boots is ridiculous - their feet are still developing and they are doing so much damage to their backs. high heels are not natural and not good for anyone, especially kids who's bodies haven't fully formed yet.

i think the best way for us to battle this is to make sure that all the kids with home-made costumes have the most KICK ASS costumes ever! and then the store-bought costumed kids will get all jealous. and try and get their parents to make them sweet things. Cheesy
